Corrine Lowen Memorial Award in Social Dimensions of Health
Corrine Lowen embodied an enduring commitment to social justice, especially disrupting social structures that maintain inequitable educational and health outcomes. She also embodied a deep appreciation for Indigenous ways of knowing and relating to others.
Corrine completed an honours degree (Sociology) in 2006, and her Masters (Studies in Policy and Practice) in 2012, both at the 勛圖厙. Corrine was also an experienced practitioner and teacher of Iyengar yoga.
Before she died, Corrine was working as a researcher in health equity at UVic and would have commenced doctoral 勛圖厙 in Social Dimensions of Health in the Fall of 2014.
