First aid response: We're here to help

If you need first aid assistance, never hesitate to call us—we’re here 24/7.

Call Campus Security at 250-721-7599 (local 7599).

If your situation is an emergency, call 911 first, then call Campus Security so we can assist until emergency responders arrive.

Our readiness

Campus Security Officers are trained and equipped to respond to a wide range of first aid situations—from minor injuries to serious medical emergencies.

Our team is certified in:

  • First Responder First Aid (rolling out Winter 2025–Spring 2026)
  • Advanced and Intermediate Occupational First Aid
  • CPR and AED use
  • Naloxone administration

Our response vehicles carry full first aid kits, including Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), so we’re ready to help when you need us most.

Naloxone

Every Campus Security Officer carries naloxone in their personal kit and is trained to administer it in case of an opioid overdose. This is part of our commitment to harm reduction and community care.

Working with emergency responders

When an ambulance or fire crew is needed, Campus Security will:

  • Provide first aid until BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) or fire department crews arrive.
  • Guide emergency responders to the right location using designated muster points on campus for faster response times.
  • Stay with you until care is safely handed over.

We work closely with emergency services to make sure help reaches you quickly and efficiently.
